Today in dls we used scratch p.it was really fun because made this really funny thing I got to control. It was an old picture of a tree I used to email my friend. I made a car and some other things. My friends are really enjoying it and jodie said she enjoys it and it's really fun .younger kids will enjoy it more but will need help to use it. We used some cards to do some funny things. It will soon be a big hit and everybody will enjoy it. I do recommend to try scratch and just have a go. Dls is out

Scratch

At the moment we are using Scratch, a control program. You can make games, animations and more. There is even a website where you can upload your creations and download Scratch on your computer. It's really fun and you should download it!

Assembly

In assembly this morning Leah, Ruby, Eloise and Emily talked about their trip to the
London kids meet. They made a presentation with photos on and Leah wrote what they had to say. They talked about the train, when they were interviewed, free time, their presentation, McDonald's, Claire's accessories and they thanked Miss BB and Miss Mclure for taking them and Miss Bradford for letting them go.( Even though none of them were in the room) They also talked about a few apps and let some people have a go on them. Everyone in assembly had to roar on an app called Drawing Torch - it was hilarious!!!

The train of doom

Our train got cancelled. I think it may have inspired this impromptu bit of film making on the way home!

Miss BB in disguise!

After the London kids meet we all made a trip to McDonald's and Claire's. Miss BB said she was going to school wearing some moustache glasses as a disguise!!!!

Comfy chairs

Miss BB loved the comfy chairs at the kids meet. She even asked us to steal them in our bags!!

So fun!

I went on a 3DS, got interviewed twice, played ping pong and got stuck in a phone box! Now, I'm making a vegetable animal! How much more fun can it get from this!?

Elm parks presentation!

Elm parks presentation was about an app called Morfo Where you can take a picture of someone and morf them. You can give them facial expressions, make them dance and give them different looks like making them fat, an elf or a superhero!

My Choice

My choice pad is where you can make different grids to talk for you. The app talks for you if you can't talk. You can make sentences to tell people what you want without talking. It's got videos inside as well with sign language to help you learn the words. You can also take a picture to put on the word as well.

Makey Makey

Makey Makey is where you can send an image to a computer and control it. Like when someone touched the water the computer made a noise. You can program something from the real world and control it on the computer by pressing on something like a cucumber in real life.

Vegetable animals

In free time people have been creating vegetable animals! Aren't they fab! The workshop place looks great and I really enjoyed making them. It was really fun seeing what kinds of vegetables I could accessories the animals in and try and make it look better!

Free Time

Emily, Ruby, Eloise have all had a go at ping pong. None of them won though but everyone is still trying to beat the champions. Despite their best efforts no one seems to be winning. In the middle Miss BB came and embarrassed them. Eek!

Our Presentation

We have just finished our presentation it went surprisingly well as Emily lost her presentation on Prezi and we had to Wing it. Our live presentation went really well. Miss BB and Miss Mclure are really proud an think we did really well. Miss BB also emailed a photo to Miss Bradford. We presented Sketch Nation and how to use and design your characters, power ups, enemies and platforms. We think it went all right and are very glad that we didn't mess it all up.

Squishy!

We are at the Kidsmeet and guess what Eloise,Leah and Ruby have done... got stuck in a phone box. Maybe I will have to do the presentation alone! Shall I go in and risk getting stuck to get them out or walk away? Maybe I should have something to eat and get them at the end of the day!

Presentations

We have just watched some presentations by the other schools at the Kidsmeet. Now some of the adults are showing and telling us about some really cool apps. There are still some other schools to go, including ours, and I can't wait to see what other schools are talking about. Mark has been presenting a website called Pixel Pin. Tara has been showing and app called My Choice. There is also a new app called Make it Light where you can get and app on your IPhone , Ipad, IPod etc and it lights up. The app is for sport matches, concerts etc. There is also an app called Pollararize where you can follow people, write a question like should I go to Mcdonalds or Burger King and people can vote on what you should do.

Ruby,Leah,Eloise and Emily have all been interviewed about what Digital Leaders is about and they think they will learn today. They were also asked what their presentation is about and how they are showing it. Some of it was filmed but it didn't work very well. The interviews were great and they got to sit in some really comfy chairs!
