Movie Star Planet

On movie star planet you can create your own character and become a VIP. You can save your star coins and buy pets clothes ect. You can create a great room and buy cool accessories. You can play game in the games in the games room and chat to your friends. You can organise party's and pretend to go on holiday.

BrainPoP

BrainPop is a good learning website for children. It is very child friendly and you can practice your schoolwork on there to help you do well in school. BrainPop is good for another reason, and that is that there is more than one subject to use to practice on. For example, if you felt your English work wasn’t as good as you wanted it to be, and you fancied extra help, you could ask the teachers to help you at school and at home use BrainPop at www.roydonprimary.co.uk! You can practice any subject you like; science, humanities, English, maths, arts, PSHE & citizenship, design & technology! The website is easy to use, so people who were unsure of it could find it a useful tool to help them. Also, it’s very eye catching and because of this it’s very inviting to children.

Edmodo

Edmodo is a really cool website were you can you can get to chat to people from different schools. Also you have a backpack were you get to post photos in you can se see other peoples pictures. You can change your profile picture you take a picture if you have iPod or iPad also a web cam you can take it, but you can get one of the Internet to, mine is a picture of me and my friend. Another great thing is, if your teacher thinks your being good you get a badges I have got 5 but you can get load for different things. It's a super game to use and anyone can use it.

London competition

I'm really excited because I got chosen to go to London for the night zoo keeper. I'm going with all my friends so that's good. Also we had to design a t-shirt to wear when we're there. I can't wait!!!

Posters!

The digital leaders were inspired by the digital leaders at Spring Cottage Primary and have started to make their own digital leader posters, using the comic life app on the ipads. They will finish them after the holidays!

Live writing

At 11 until 12 this Friday morning there was a live writing session. 

  Live writing is where schools go on a website and the teachers send pictures and write what you have do. For example describe what you think has happened in the picture.

  Live writing is great because you can learn how to improve and write descriptions of photos or videos. It also makes you want to keep writing about the picture and try and improve it.

  The teacher’s comments are helpful and really nice. The comments are also great for helping with everything about writing in different ways and make you enjoy writing if you didn’t already.

  Live writing is quite challenging but fun. I wish there were more sessions.

Brain Pop Review

Brain Pop review
Brain Pop is a great website for learning a bit about everything you need to know.
The look is great and very colourful which makes the website look fun to learn with. Also on the home page there is a video which shows you what the websites way of teaching are. I think the pages are eye-catching and give a good impression. I also like how everything is clear and makes me want to explore further into the site.
It is very easy to find what you are looking for because the pages are layed out nicely and all the buttons aren’t crammed up in one little space. On homepage the buttons have clear writing that is easy to read with pictures that make me want to look at that subject. The pages aren’t too complicated either.
On the videos there is lots of information but interesting to watch at the same time. There is also a bit of writing that isn’t boring like some websites. The videos are brilliant to watch and make learning about that subject enjoyable. However, I don’t like how you need to be logged in to watch a video.
I have looked at some things from the science subject like Albert Einstein which was very interesting and the video provided some great facts like Albert couldn’t talk until he was 3. I
also looked at black holes. The video explained what a black hole was,

London Competition!

In digital leaders recently there has been a competition to go to London.There were four spaces but now there are only three as I am going. We had to write a review for a website called Brain Pop and create a digital leader badge or logo using a paint program on the iPads or computers. I am really excited about going to London and I can't wait to find out who I am going with.

We are having so much fun

We are all having fun playing on photo booth making us look like monsters. My people who are in my pics are Emily and eloise.

Kodu

In digital leaders we have been learning about a program called Kodu. Kodu is where you can make your own game with a character and a world like a battlefield for example. Miss BB said we might have to explain to other classes how to use it as well. We have been trying to complete the tutorials and explore the program. I messed up my world though because I filled it up with water,oops! I think Kodu is really fun and I am going to download it on my computer.

Sketch nation and Edmodo

Hello my name is Emily and I am one of the new digital leaders at Roydon Primary School.
We have been making our accounts on Edmodo and finding out more about it like finding our backpacks and sending messages and attachments.
We have also been making games on Sketch Nation for a competition to go to London to do a talk and presentation. Our latest game is making a mythical underwater sea creature in a game.
I think Digital Leaders is great and I am pleased I got involved!

We have all just joined digital leaders and are all enjoying it. We have made loads of games on sketch nation and all joined in with edmodo. We all want to go to london to meet other digital leaders and find out how things are different and find out what other digital leaders have be doing.
